great base for walking to nearby caverns and parks

I really enjoyed the charming atmosphere and the early breakfast that was delicious, allowing me to fuel up before I set off on my walks to nearby landmarks like Mam Tor and the Castle, which were both just a short stroll away, making it the perfect place for someone who loves exploring on foot.

    great location

i had a lovely stay at george inn. the breakfast was amazing, especially the mushrooms and poached eggs on wholemeal. the room was quaint yet modern, with beautiful rickety floors and a cute low window that had a stunning view of the hills. the small private balcony upstairs would have been perfect for a romantic moment.

    spotty wi-fi

    Best staff ever!

We spent 2 nights here, and honestly, the staff made our stay super fun! They were so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond when our car broke down. The place had a cozy vibe and was really clean too. The bar area was cool for chilling out after a busy day, but the Wi-Fi could be better.

    early morning noise

I loved the charming atmosphere of the George Inn. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout my stay. The food exceeded my expectations. both breakfast and dinner offered a great variety and excellent quality. My room was spacious with a large, comfortable bed and a mini fridge, which was a nice touch. I enjoyed the peaceful outdoor seating area, perfect for unwinding after hiking. the room did get quite warm at night, making it a bit hard to sleep. early morning noise from bin collections was a minor disruption. Despite these issues, I would happily stay here again.

    cozy pub
    friendly staff
    warm room

We had a lovely time enjoying the cozy pub atmosphere and a great chat with the friendly staff. The sun terrace was perfect for relaxing after a long day, and the comfortable double room had all we needed. The only slight downside was the room got a bit warm, so a fan would’ve been nice, but it didn’t ruin our stay. 😊

A Hidden Gem for Couples Getaway!

We had a relaxing stay in a beautifully decorated Double Room. The local pub served extraordinary food, and the staff were welcoming. A small downside was the generator noise outside, but our overall experience was still delightful. Make sure to try the homemade desserts!

I visited recently and found the food to be of good quality and satisfying. The staff were approachable as well, which made the experience enjoyable. The peaceful outdoor seating area was perfect for relaxing with a drink after hiking.

The room was quite warm at night, which affected my sleep. There was also some noise from bin collections early in the morning, which was a bit disruptive.

    friendly staff
    spacious room
    limited options
    noise disruptions
    lack of atmosphere

The staff made the experience unforgettable, being both welcoming and fun, exemplified by one team member who went out of their way to drive us to the station. The room was spacious, equipped with a mini fridge that included water and wine, and I enjoyed a superb dinner and breakfast with homemade jams. the limited drink options in the bar could be improved, and noise from outside was sometimes disruptive, affecting the tranquility of the stay.

    rustic decor
    thoughtful fridge
    early noise

Rustic decor offers a charming atmosphere, ideal for unwinding after a day on the trail. The mini fridge in the Double Room provides a thoughtful touch, perfect for stashing away snacks or drinks for later.

The temperature in the room ran a bit warm at night, making sleep a bit uncomfortable for me. I also noticed some early morning noise from bin collections, which disrupted the peaceful vibe. the bar closed rather early at 10 PM, limiting options for a nightcap or evening chat with fellow guests, who seemed keen on staying longer.
